Rumor: Spyro Trilogy remaster in development; Timed-exclusive for PS4

Oh please, please, please!

There have been plenty of rumors surrounding the studio that brought us the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and the unannounced game they are working on. Rumors initially detailed that there is a new Crash Bandicoot game in the works, but it looks like Spyro is coming too.

Multiple sources are suggesting that Activision is currently working on a Spyro the Dragon Trilogy Remaster. Apparently, Spyro the Dragon, Ripto’s Rage!, and Year of the Dragon will be the trio of games featured in the trilogy.

According to rumors, the game will be announced next month, in March 2018, and released in Q3 2018. The rumor details that the Spyro remaster will feature new assets, an update to the save feature, lighting, animations, cinematics, and a remastered soundtrack.

Spyro the Dragon Trilogy Remaster will be announced for the PS4, with PS4 Pro support, and will be a timed exclusive. One source suggested that the game will release in September, to fall in line with Spyro the Dragon’s 20th anniversary.

It is likely that the Spyro the Dragon Trilogy remaster will be handled much like Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, from development to release and everything in between. Activision has not confirmed this rumor, but March is just around the corner, so we won’t have to wait long.
